Monday, May 24, 2021 The  AME Zion Church of Palo Alto, Inc. was founded in 1918 and has occupied its sanctuary for over a half-century.  In 2018, the Bishop of the Western Episcopal District of The African Method Episcopal Zion Church importuned the church s pastor into deeding the church to a corporation that the Bishop had formed.  The corporation then borrowed, without the church s knowledge, several million dollars using the church s property as collateral.   When the lenders filed notice of default and attempted to foreclose, the church filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code and then sued the lenders. Bankruptcy Judge Frederick E. Clement refused the lenders motion to dismiss the church s claim, finding that irregularities in the deed put the lenders on notice of the existence of an

Judge Hany focuses court s efforts to aid struggling families Sheri Trusty PORT CLINTON - When Judge Frederick “Fritz” Hany II became Ottawa County’s new juvenile and probate judge in January, he brought a desire to use his 28 years of experience as a municipal court judge to the juvenile court, where he can intervene in the lives of locals while they are still young. He hopes to identify and address needs through the juvenile court to help set kids on a productive path that will veer them far from the courtroom as adults. “My immediate focus is on families and youth,” Hany said. “In municipal court, we have families struggling. They are struggling economically, with mental health issues, and with substance addiction issues. This court is prepared to address these issues.”

Haney appeared in court to answer to charges that she disposed of a dead body in a trash can in Bradenton.
