Labor’s Energy Minister, Lily D’Ambrosio has come out of hiding, six days after Labor’s Big Battery project caught fire, to confirm that she has no idea what impact the fire will have on the battery project.
The Minister confirmed to media this morning that Labor’s Big Battery was meant to be completed and go online by November this year, but now can’t say how the fire has impacted this schedule.
Batteries have a critical role to play in our renewable future but must be safe for communities, staff, and our power grid. That’s why the Andrews Labor Government needs to be open and transparent with the investigations currently underway.

Federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese and Shadow Energy Minister Chris Bowen are “dragging Labor away” from the workers they “used to represent,” according to Energy Minister Angus Taylor.
During Question Time on Tuesday, Mr Taylor touted the Morrison Government’s investments and action to deliver affordable, reliable energy to Australians.
He cited decreasing wholesale prices as evidence the government’s energy plan is working, but noted there needs to be continued “downward” pressure on those prices.
“That means, more supply into the marketplace, particularly as we lose coal-fired generators”.
According to Mr Taylor, the alternative to the Morrison Government’s energy plan is “the leader of the opposition and the member for McMahon”.
“The two of them are dragging Labor away from the workers they used to represent,” he said.

Shadow Energy Minister Chris Bowen s challenge of the economic viability of the government subsidised gas power plant in NSW was reasonable but the homework had already been done long ago, according to Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon. He accepted and pledged support for the need to have gas generation as a transitional fuel but then of course he challenged the economic viability and the particular proposal, he told Sky News host Chris Kenny. But I d already done that homework, I ve done that homework long ago.
