Kenilworth man dies in hospital after hinterland smash

The 71-year-old passed away in the early hours of Monday with his family by his side. Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on Maleny Montville Road and Landsborough-Maleny Road at midday on Thursday. The man was trapped in his dual cab ute when first responders arrived. Man cut from vehicle after serious hinterland crash

Premium Content Subscriber only A man was cut free from his vehicle after a two-car crash on a Sunshine Coast hinterland road. The man in his 70s was flown to a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition. Emergency services were called to the scene on Landsborough-Maleny Road and Grandview Drive around midday on Thursday. A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the man was trapped in his vehicle when first responders arrived. Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to the two-car crash and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman treated the man and a woman.
