LAKE ESQUAGAMA, Minn. The main lodge of a camp on Lake Esquagama has been wiped out by a fire.
According to the Northland FireWire, the blaze happened on Friday afternoon shortly before 1 p.m. at Camp Sigel, which offers Bible study camps.
When firefighters got to the scene, the lodge was already fully engulfed, with the flames spreading to the forest.
Iron Range firefighters worked on putting out the lodge fire while the Minnesota DNR attacked the forest’s flames from above in a helicopter, with help from a fire crew from New Jersey.
No one was hurt.

Crews responded to the fire around 3:30 p.m.
In a Facebook post on the Northland FireWire page, the fire is reportedly on the roof of the Plant.

Firefighters were called to a fire at United Taconite Fairlane plant in Forbes at about 3:30 on Thursday afternoon.
Cleveland Cliffs spokesperson Patricia Persico described the fire as minor, and said there were no injuries and no impact to production.
According to The Northland FireWire, the fire was reportedly on one of the roofs of a building. Virginia Fire Chief Allen Lewis said crews kept flames contained to a 1,000-square foot section of the roof on the pelletizer building.

Lewis said there were no serious injuries, but several firefighters were treated on scene for possible smoke inhalation and an eye injury.
