Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa is planning to make cuts to its staff. Officials announced over the weekend that 10 employees at the hospital will be laid off. The coronavirus pandemic had an impact on Providence in 2020 according to officials. Six of the eliminated workers are emergency department technicians, and four are cooks.

Napa County will be getting some resources for next wildfire season. Officials announced over the weekend that the state will be providing the county with a firefighting helicopter, and nearly 50 firefighters. The county says the helicopter will be capable of dropping 1,000 gallons of water and the new firefighters will staff a 24-hour crew. The investment is estimated to cost $3 million according to officials.
