A Bondurant man will spend up to four years in prison after being convicted of possessing child pornography and sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.
Kenneth Adams, 53, pleaded guilty in May to four counts of possessing child pornography. He entered an Alford plea, maintaining innocence but acknowledging substantial evidence of guilt, to two counts of assault causing injury with sexual motivation. He was originally charged in October 2019.
At his sentencing Friday, his attorney requested Adams receive 10 years of probation, in line with a presentence report s recommendation, and noted his client was considered to be a low risk to reoffend.
Adams, speaking on his own behalf, made a personal plea to Judge David Porter for probation, saying he wanted to focus on his business and time with his family and not causing harm to anyone. He said he could not express the disgust I have with myself for contributing to the harm caused by pornography, and apologized to pornography victims
