IN THE COURTS: 14 people who have appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court. DANIEL GALLAGHER, Cashelard, Bally Shannon, Ireland. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Discharged conditionally for two years. Ordered to pay £22 victim surcharge and £310 court costs. IAN DAVID MASTERS, 33, of Portswood Road, Southampton. Admitted breaching a post-sentence supervision requirement. Fined£40 and ordered to pay £60 court costs. JACOB NATHAN LESLEY WILLOUGHBY, 21, of Albert Road, Southampton. Admitted breaching post-sentence supervision requirements on three separate occasions. Made subject to an electronically monitored curfew for 30 days between 7pm and 7am each day.

New streetlights in Hampshire to reduce carbon footprint MORE streetlights in Hampshire will be upgraded in the new year as part of £3.2m investment to improve the county s carbon footprint. Dozens of streetlights in Lee-on-the-Solent will be replaced as Hampshire County Council wants to reduce its energy consumption. 75 lamps in the town will be replaced with energy efficient LED lights. Earlier this year, 12,000 high-powered lamps were replaced with more efficient LEDs. It comes as part of the council s £3.2m investment which is set to save the authority £500,000. Roads that will benefit include: Richmond Roar, Victoria Square, Montserrat Road, Osborne Road, Kings Road, Nottingham Place and the southern section of Swanage Road.
