Be prepared as the whole of the Fiji Group will experience heavy rain for the next few days and the Nadi Weather Office predicts that a cyclone is expected to form in open waters between Fiji and Vanuatu mid-week.
Acting Director, Terry Atalifo says their models are showing the cyclone is expected to form in the same area where Cyclone Yasa had formed in December.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.
The Nadi Weather Office says a heavy rain alert remains in force for the rest of Fiji.
A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the group with cloud and rain bands affecting most parts of the country till Friday.

A heavy rain warning is in place for the Southern half of Viti Levu which includes areas from Nadi to Sigatoka through to Suva and up to Tailevu and is also in force for Kadavu, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group.
A heavy rain alert is in place for the rest of Viti Levu, Yasawa and the Mamanuca Group.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the country.
They say the system is expected to gradually weaken by Sunday.
