Amid rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the Nashik district administration has decided to impose a weekend lockdown in the area with several restrictions. The weekend lockdown is scheduled to come into effect from Tuesday (March 9).
The Nashik district administration decided to impose the weekend lockdown after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took stock of the situation in the state. As per the new order, no weddings will be allowed in the state from March 15. However, the functions for which permission was granted earlier can be organised.
Outbreak protocols will be implemented strictly and those not wearing masks will be fined Rs 1,000, while marriage functions, which seem to be a factor behind the spike, will require police permission
