The Meteorological Department says the epicentre of the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that struck at 9:20pm on Monday was 403 kilometres north-northwest from Dhaka.
Zahirul Haque, an official at the earthquake observation centre of the department, said tremors were felt in Panchagarh and several other districts.
Nazrul Islam Jewel, OC of Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station, said there were no reports of damage due to the tremors that lasted three to four seconds.

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have recovered two statues of Hindu deities Vishnu and Jagaddhatri made of touchstone in Naogaon s Mahadevpur upazila.
The statues were found in a haystack at one Kalu Miya s house in Bakapur village in the upazila on Tuesday night, BGB-16 Naogaon Battalion said in a press statement today.
On information that the statues, weighing 76 kg and 56 kg respectively, were kept to be smuggled, BGB-16 personnel conducted a drive around 8:00pm and recovered those, said Lt Col Md Rejaul Kabir, commanding officer of BGB-16.
