Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have recovered two statues of Hindu deities Vishnu and Jagaddhatri made of touchstone in Naogaon s Mahadevpur upazila.
The statues were found in a haystack at one Kalu Miya s house in Bakapur village in the upazila on Tuesday night, BGB-16 Naogaon Battalion said in a press statement today.
On information that the statues, weighing 76 kg and 56 kg respectively, were kept to be smuggled, BGB-16 personnel conducted a drive around 8:00pm and recovered those, said Lt Col Md Rejaul Kabir, commanding officer of BGB-16.
