LMFM By Ruth O Connell Louth County Council says the greenway will be designed in an integrated manner
Louth County Council has been asked to ensure that the planned coastal greenway linking Dundalk with Blackrock, does not run through housing estates on the Lower Point Road.
Fianna Fáil s Emma Coffey tabled a notice of motion on the issue at the Dundalk Municipal District s monthly meeting, calling for the greenway to be built on top of the planned coastal protection/flood risk infrastructure on the Castletown River embankment, the Navvy Bank, Lord Limerick embankment and Blackrock coastal area.
The council says the consultants brief for the flood relief scheme already includes the design of the greenway in an integrated manner.
