Toyota Qualis car involved in the accident
NAVI MUMBAI: One person was killed and four others were injured in two mishaps on Mumbai carriageway of expressway on Thursday morning.
While a 21-year-old youth Rahul Dagane, a resident of Worli police camp was killed after the Toyota Qualis car in which he was travelling with his friend Siddhesh Patil (30), Andheri resident, who was at the wheels and has sustained injuries, crashed into an unidentified vehicle ahead of it. The incident occurred at 16 kms distance near Rasayani around 6am.
PSI Vasant Kesarkar of HSP, Palaspe unit said, The IRB agency staff informed us about the accident near Rasayani. When we reached the spot around 6.15am, we found only the Qualis car with its front left side mangled as the vehicle it crashed into had sped away. From the extent of damage caused to car, the unidentified vehicle seems to be container trailer.
NAVI MUMBAI: Local environmentalists have stated that as per Right to Information Act (RTI) records, there is no proper Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ) clearance to build the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) special economic zone (SEZ) project at the port area in Maharashtra s Navi Mumbai.
The greens have thus asked the state environment department to take remedial steps to restore the coastal biodiversity. As per records of the MCZMA, the information (that) pertaining to CRZ clearance to JNPT SEZ for implementing the SEZ project in Uran taluka of Raigad district is not available. This communique from the environment department was shared in response to our RTI application, said BN Kumar of NatConnect Foundation.
