Van Eps Named GPAC And NAIA Athlete of the Week Posted Wednesday, April 21, 2021 (Wednesday, April 21; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Matthew Van Eps, a senior at Dordt from Prinsburg, Minnesota, has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference and NAIA National Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for competitions from April 12-17. Van Eps won the 800 meters at the Sioux City Relays in a come from behind effort and clocked a personal best 1:50.30.  Later in the day Van Eps ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 with Micah Brands, Payton Mauldin and Cole Zevenbergen clocking a time of 3:16.08.  His 800 time is tops in the GPAC and second in the NAIA and the 4x400 time is also second in the nation and tops in the GPAC.

Eight Men s Volleyball Players Earn All-GPAC Notice Posted Wednesday, April 14, 2021 (Tuesday, April 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its first ever Men’s Volleyball All-GPAC teams following the conclusion of the recently completed 2021 season.  Dordt had eight athletes honored in voting done by the conference coaches. Jimmies One of Four Top Seeds for Men s Volleyball National Championship

(Jimmiepride.com) – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team drew one of the top four seeds in pool play at the 2021 Men’s Volleyball National Championship. The 12-team field begins play on April 20 in Des Moines, Iowa. Jamestown (20-2), regular-season and postseason champions of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, are the fourth seed overall, and the top seed in Pool D, which also features fifth-seed Park (Mo.) and twelfth-seed Georgetown (Ky.) The Jimmies will play Georgetown at 4 p.m. on April 20, then have an off-day before finishing pool play on April 22 against Park at 4 p.m.

The two were chosen from applications in the Midwest Dairy region which includes eight states. They will represent the dairy industry in a variety of activities. Bravo to the junior division teams from this region who placed in the top three teams at the North Dakota state 4-H crop judging contest last month at Valley City. The team from Griggs and LaMoure counties placed first, the Ransom County team placed second, and the Foster County team placed third.
