SACRAMENTO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOLS WILL WELCOME BACK KINDERGARTEN TO THIRD GRADE STUDENTS THIS MORNING. THE DISTRICT SAYS IT HAS ADDED SIGNS REMINDING STUDENTS TO WEAR MASKS, SOCIAL DISTANCE, AND WASH HANDS. THERE WILL ALSO BE SCREENING EQUIPMENT AT THE ENTRANCES AND THERMAL SCANNERS TO CHECK TEMPERATURES. THE DISTRICT HAS ALSO MADE UPGRADES TO ITS VENTILATION SYSTEMS AND INSTALLED AIR FILTRATION UNITS IN CLASSROOMS. KIDS IN FOURTH THROUGH SIXTH GRADE WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL NEXT THURSDA

THE NATOMAS TEACHERS UNION FILED AN UNFAIR PRACTICE CHARGE AGAINST THE DISTRICT. TEACHERS SAY THEY AGREED ON A PLAN WITH THE DISTRICT IN FEBRUARY THAT ALLOWED KIDS BACK WITH HYBRID LEARNING AND SMALLER CLASS SIZES.
