A final security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCA) is all that’s required now to start construction at the site.
Officials of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), the UP government’s special purpose vehicle for the project, said on the masterplan was sent to AAI to ensure that all technical aspects were being complied with. “We have now received the approval as well as some suggestions from AAI. They have reviewed the project masterplan,” said Arunvir Singh, chief executive officer of NIAL.

GREATER NOIDA: The Zurich AG subsidiary that will develop Noida International Airport in Jewar has finally initiated the process of signing a couple of mandatory agreements with the Union civil aviation ministry and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The agreements are likely to be inked in the last week of February after the pending hurdles are cleared by the UP government, TOI has learnt.
Officials said that AAI will provide licence to Zurich AG subsidiary Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) only after the signing of communication, navigation and surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) agreement. On the other hand, the civil aviation ministry is required to give an in-principle nod to YIAPL. The concessionaire pact for the project was signed between Zurich AG and UP in October last year.

NOIDA: The Jewar airport project has acted as a catalyst for Noida’s plans to build a heliport for air taxi services to IGI airport in Delhi and other neighbouring cities.
The Noida Authority on Wednesday shared with interested private players the heliport’s concept document covering key aspects of the project, including passenger projections.
Though it has set a June 2022 launch date for the heliport in Sector 151A, the helipad’s utility will be in the longer term than in the immediate future, while its feasibility will depend heavily on other large infrastructure projects that have been commissioned in the region but are still in the planning stages.
