Doha: This year, Qatar National Day was celebrated at the Urdu Radio (FM 107) with a lot of pomp, show, and enthusiasm. The event began with live coverage of the National Day Parade from the Doha Corniche and coverage of Amir Cup final from the newly inaugurated Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Urdu Radio also invited and hosted an array of dignitaries who attended the studio and were guests on live shows telecast throughout the evening.

5/6 Park s features distinct from other parks in Qatar

Eng Mohammad Arqoub Al Khaldi, chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, said the optimal implementation of 5/6 Park couldn’t have achieved without the cooperation of all relevant entities in the country, as well as the participation of Qatari artists with their various artistic works, which added a creative and cultural touch to the park.
Khaldi said the committee’s efforts to increase the green spaces in the country are important part of the committee’s goal to make areas environmentally friendly.
He said Qatar honoured 20 volunteer artists in appreciation of their efforts with volunteer artwork that served the committee’s plan for 2020.

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Sunday visited Park 5/6 and witnessed the progress of a campaign that seeks to beautify Qatar and plant one million trees. It is being carried out by the Supervisory Committee on Beautification of Roads and Public Places in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The PM participated with a number of Qataris in planting trees in support of the campaign and viewed artworks created by a number of Qatari and resident artists.

Doha: Citizens and expatriates yesterday celebrated Qatar National Day (QND) with full fervour with their families and friends avoiding large gatherings following COVID-19 preventive and precautionary measures.
The day started for many with watching live QND parade on Qatar TV at their homes. The National Day parade was held at Doha Corniche to celebrate QND, demonstrating the achievements of Qatar in different walks of life.
First time health workers ‘White Army’ consisting of doctors, nurses, Qatar Red Crescent Society employees and volunteers took part in the parade, which was in recognition of their roles in fight against coronavirus.
