Qatar National Day fireworks to be held at Doha Corniche

UPDATE: The fireworks will be held at 9:20pm, organisers reported.
Doha: This year’s Qatar National Day (QND) activities will include fireworks in Doha Corniche at 8:30 pm on Friday December 18, 2020 in addition to events held at Katara, officials said today.
The Security Committee for Organizing National Day Activities held a press conference today explaining the organizational procedures for QND events, at the Establishments and Authorities Security Dept building.
Entry procedures to the event site include ensuring the necessary health measures (checking body temperature - wearing a mask – Ehteraz app with green colour code) in addition to the security screening procedures.

Qatar National Day
Qatar marks its National Day on December 18 every year. It is an opportunity to introduce the efforts of Qatar’s founders who faced hardships and braved through several challenges to unify their nation.
This special day signifies and emphasizes the identity and history of Qatar and represents the ideal and aspirations adopted by the State to strengthen the unity, solidarity and pride of Qatar national identity.

Doha: The Doha Corniche, and many other places are decorated with rows of the Qatari flag to celebrate the National Day, which falls on December 18 of each year.
Qatari flags have been installed along the Corniche Street, where the main celebrations will take place. Also, historical sites such as the Souq Waqif have been adorned with flags. Other major buildings and shopping malls have also been draped in the Qatari flag and beautiful lighting, which has become an annual symbol of National Day celebrations.
