BENGALURU: In an attempt to address the urgent need to augment oxygen supplies, especially after the deaths of Covid-19 patients in some districts due to its shortage, Karnataka on Wednesday approached the Centre requesting that it be allowed to use all of the oxygen produced within the state.
Large and Medium-scale Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar, who has been given charge of oxygen augmentation, supply and procurement, said, “The state has increased its oxygen production, but it is sent to other states as well. The Central Government has provided oxygen supplies to Karnataka from other states, but the supply is long overdue. I have consulted Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Pralhad Joshi to reduce the quantum of oxygen being shipped out to other sta

NEW DELHI, Apr 30: Amid the COVID-19 crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Union Ministers today to stay in touch with the people of their respective regions, help them and keep getting their feedback on the situation.
Chairing a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers, Modi also stressed upon the “need to ensure that issues at the local level are promptly identified and addressed”, according to an official statement.
The meeting was held virtually to discuss the situation arising out of the second wave of COVID-19 in the country. It noted that the pandemic has led to a “once-in-a-century” crisis and thrown a big challenge to the world, the statement said.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 5 (ANI): Even as Bharatiya Janata Party fights a fierce battle in Bengal with Trinamool Congress with the ground-level campaign, the party is fighting another battle to wean away bhadralok and occupy ideological space that is seen to be primarily occupied by Left parties in the poll-bound state.
As part of BJP s efforts, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan met around 60 prominent personalities of the state to seek their blessings for poriborton and to explain the vision of Sonar Bangla that is the main poll plank of BJP in this assembly election.
