(File photo) + May 28, 2021 MORE booths of illegal small town lottery (STL) in Cebu City were dismantled and confiscated by the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement (Probe) team more than a week since the operation started. Probe chief Raquel Arce said as of May 27, 2021, a total of 54 booths of illegal STL were confiscated and dismantled. Arce said most of the STL booths were closed and abandoned. “So far, we have not seen stalls that are still operational. These booths were closed; it’s already abandoned,” said Arce. Probe has been conducting road clearing operations to free public roads and sidewalks from any obstruction.

Garma, a retired police colonel who once served as chief of the Cebu City Police Office and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Central Visayas (CIDG), said STL operations have become rampant in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.

PCSO provides P29-M medical aid to 4,306 indigent Filipinos

The amount of aid disbursed totals P29,068,323.81. Of the amount, P6.96 million was given to Northern and Central Luzon for 953 beneficiaries; P6.17 million to Southern Tagalog and Bicol region for 1,162 beneficiaries; P6.15 million to Visayas for 959 recipients; P5.59 million to the National Capital Region (NCR) for 608 recipients; and P4.1 million to Mindanao for 624 beneficiaries.  In a Facebook post on Saturday, it said the delivery of its medical services nationwide continue from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
