WASHINGTON, May 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Corus International is working with longstanding local partners to respond to the COVID-19 surge in India, providing support to overwhelmed hospitals and helping rural communities to limit the spread of the virus.
Working through its subsidiaries Lutheran World Relief and IMA World Health, Corus is assisting hospitals in accessing critical supplies like personal protective equipment, oxygen, ventilators and basic medicines. It is also helping long-standing community organizations that reach deep into communities, providing information and supplies to prevent COVID s spread.
In its public health response, Corus is working with its partner Christian Medical Associates of India, which represents a network of community facilities that includes nearly 300 hospitals staffed by more than 10,000 healthcare professionals. Corus aims to support at least 10 hospitals in the immediate term in the coming six months

New Delhi: Prime time debates Tuesday were focused on the Covid-19 vaccines and their expected rollout on 13 January. While the two vaccines Covishield and Covaxin have received approval from the government, the latter vaccine has been the subject of much criticism. Developed by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research, Covaxin has neither released efficacy data nor has it completed Phase 3 trials.
On India Today, Shiv Aroor took issue with opposition parties criticising the vaccine.
“There have been doctors and experts who have demanded more data, who have constructive criticism about vaccine approvals and have demanded more information to support reasons why these approvals have been given in this manner,” said Aroor.

Christians in Kerala have decided to boycott Halal meat and products saying they cannot consume meat offered to other gods. Hindu group Hindu Aikya Vedi also extended its support to this protest

Ahead of Christmas, Christians in Kerala have decided to boycott Halal meat and products saying they cannot consume food item which is against their religious ethos.
Church s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) will hold a protest and an awareness campaign two or three days before Christmas.
