PATNA: RJD is trying hard to woo Jamui MP Chirag Paswan to join the opposition camp in Bihar. A senior RJD member said there have been frequent telephone conversations between Chirag and RJD chief Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
“The two do talk to each other over phone after the split in LJP. Chirag had also talked to Lalu. They have old family ties and Chirag treats Lalu like his guardian,” the RJD member said. He added that Chirag may not join RJD but that there were chances of an alliance.
RJD national general secretary Shyam Rajak’s meeting with Chirag on Saturday had triggered speculation that something was cooking. RJD and LJP members denied that the meeting had anything to do with Chirag’s conversation with RJD’s first family or any political development.
