PATNA: A day after RJD leader Shayam Rajak’s startling disclosure about 17 Janata Dal (United) MLAs being in touch with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Chief Minister Nitish Kumar strongly dismissed rumours of discontent within his party.
On the sidelines of a local event, Nitish stoutly denied his party MLAs were in contact with the opposition RJD. “All this is nonsense and all such rumours are false,” he told the media when asked about Rajak’s claim. Reports of discomfiture in the JD(U) camp surfaced after the Arunachal Pradesh episode involving the defection of six MLAs of Nitish’s party to the BJP the senior ally in Bihar’s ruling NDA.

Patna (Bihar) [India], December 30 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday dismissed as totally baseless the claim by opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Shyam Rajak who said that 17 MLAs of ruling Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) are in touch with the RJD and more will cross over very soon.
While talking to ANI, Rajak, who joined the RJD before the Assembly elections said that the defection of the MLAs has been put on hold since the RJD hoped that more would like to follow suit.

Last week, six of the seven JD(U) MLAs joined the ruling BJP in Arunachal Pradesh improving BJP’s tally to 48 in the 60-member house. JD (U) now has only one MLA left in the house.
