Green to hold drug take back day Suburbanite staff report GREEN – The Summit County Sheriff Department is participating in the National Drug Take Back Day on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Green Fire Station No. 2, 393 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road. The event is part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take Back Day to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring pills or patches only; drop-off sites cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

(Fairfax County Police Department) FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA Fairfax County Police Department collected 2,038 pounds of unwanted and expired medications Saturday as part of the DEA National Drug Take Back Day, according to a post on the department s official Twitter account. Officers from FCPD s eight district stations helped county residents drop off unwanted and expired medications. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, millions of people every year misuse prescription pain relievers, stimulants, tranquilizers and sedatives. Nearly 50,000 people in the United States died from opioid-involved overdoses that year.

More than 500 lbs of prescription drugs collected at Drug Take Back Day site LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Organizers of the National Drug Take Back Day site in downtown La Crosse were busy collecting old and unused medication Saturday morning. Al Bliss with the La Crosse County Health Department said that 550 lbs. of prescription drugs were dropped off at the site during the three hours of the event. Approximately 358 vehicles came through the Health and Human Services building parking lot to get rid of the medication. Elsewhere, the Monroe County Sheriff s Office said they were a part of an event that collected 342 pounds of medications on Saturday.
