Muscat: The tropical cyclone, Tauktae, is likely to make landfall on the Indian/Pakistani coasts on 18th May without any impact on Oman, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said on Sunday.
A statement issued online by CAA said: The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre analysis indicates that the tropical cyclone (Tauktae), east of Arabian Sea today (Sunday, 16th May 2021) near latitude 72.2 E and longitude 15.0 N with estimated surface wind speed around the center (70 - 80 knots) (130-150km/h). It is expected to move adjoining to Indian coasts and further intensify to tropical cyclone category- 2 within the next 24 hours. It is expected to make landfall on the Indian /Pakistani coasts on 18th May without any impact on the Sultanate.
