He will have been in the role for 10 years. The Bishop emotionally described the role as a privilege and a joy. He said: “In present circumstances, the timing of my retirement has not been an easy decision to make, but it feels right to me and to those I have consulted. The impact of the pandemic is going to be felt for a long time. The Diocese is developing a Mission and Pastoral Plan and we have an agreed financial framework with which to face the future with confidence. We continue to be about Renewing Hope as we Pray, Serve and Grow.

Praise be as High Carntyne Parish Church gets cash for essential work

High Carntyne Parish Church was given a cash boost A CARNTYNE church has plenty to rejoice and be glad in after receiving a bumper cash boost.  High Carntyne has been given £10,000 from the National Churches Trust Cornerstone Grant to fund repairs to rainwater goods.  The work will make the Grade B listed Carntynehall Road building “watertight” and “preserve its historic fabric”.  The kirk, built in 1932, has also been given  a £7,500 Wolfson Fabric Repair Grant from the Wolfson Foundation on the recommendation of the National Churches Trust. It was one of nearly 60 across the UK to be given cash.  Reverend Dr Joan Ross, minister at Carntyne, said: “We are extremely grateful to be awarded these grants.
