The National Guard members were deployed Jan. 29 to the National Capitol Region in Washington D.C. where they provided support to the D.C. National Guard and Capitol police for a post-inaugural security mission. According to a press release, the soldiers performed a variety of duties such as providing additional security, training and logistical support. “The men and women of the Michigan National Guard have always stepped up whenever called upon and their support for the Capitol region was no different,” said Gov.
