Veteran actress Naila Jaffery passes away July 18, 2021 KARACHI: Veteran actress Naila Jaffery passed away on Saturday after a protracted illness, her family and President Arts Council Ahmed Shah confirmed. She had been battling cancer for the last six years. Jaffery had been performing on television since late 1990s and gained fame for her stellar performances in drama serials such as Aa Mujh ko Satana, Desi Girls, and Thodi Si Khushiyan. She did her last drama serial in 2016, after which cancer was diagnosed. She recorded a video message in April for the entertainment industry and the government, asking the channel owners to pay all actors, including her, royalty of the re-runs of the previous work which will be of a great help to her. It drew a lot of attention and concern for a genuine issue.

KARACHI: Renowned television and theatre actress Nyla Jaffri passed away here on Saturday. She was 56. She was battling cancer for quite a few years. In order to recuperate she stayed in Gilgit for some time but returned to Karachi where she breathed her last. Nyla Jaffri received her early education in Rawalpindi. She began working in plays from Rawalpindi Television Station but in the 1980s her family shifted to Karachi. She worked in a decent number of TV plays the first of which was Hadison ka muntazar. She went on to do other television projects including Mujh Ko Sulana, Aks, Ik kasak reh gai, Desi Girls and Thori si khushian. She also worked in playwright Ashfaq Ahmed’s famous TV series Aik muhabbat sau afsaney.

Veteran actor Naila Jaffri passes away after six-year battle against cancer July 18, 2021 Senior TV actor Naila Jaffri has passed away. According to details given by Naila Jaffri’s brother, Atif Jafri, the actor passed away on July 17 and her funeral prayers will be offered later today in Isha Defense Phase II and burial will be held at Army Cemetery on Kala Pul. The actor fought a six-year long and hard battle against ovarian cancer. She was being treated at the Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi. Jaffery had been performing on television since the late 1990’s, and was one of the ‘veteran’ performers. She enjoyed lots of success and gave heart touching performances in dramas such as Maa Mujh ko Sulana, Desi Girls and Thodi Si Khushiyan provide ample justification to her success.
