Veteran actress Naila Jaffery passes away

KARACHI: Veteran actress Naila Jaffery passed away on Saturday after a protracted illness, her family and President Arts Council Ahmed Shah confirmed. She had been battling cancer for the last six years.
Jaffery had been performing on television since late 1990s and gained fame for her stellar performances in drama serials such as Aa Mujh ko Satana, Desi Girls, and Thodi Si Khushiyan. She did her last drama serial in 2016, after which cancer was diagnosed.
She recorded a video message in April for the entertainment industry and the government, asking the channel owners to pay all actors, including her, royalty of the re-runs of the previous work which will be of a great help to her. It drew a lot of attention and concern for a genuine issue.
