Lennel House in Coldstream has recently seen an outbreak of COVID-19. It has now been reported in the
Southern Reporter and on Radio Borders that two people have died at the care home, run by St Philips Care. The
Border Telegraph contacted Paul Farmer, the St Philips Care chief executive, for a comment on these reports. This newspaper asked Mr Farmer if he could provide a statement on reports that two residents of Lennel House have died with coronavirus . In response, Mr Farmer said: We have worked closely with our Local Authority and NHS partners with extensive infection control measures in place to minimise the outbreak.

During a search of Ikran Aslam’s home, gardaí found a large quantity of cannabis herb, weighing scales and bags hidden behind the back panel of a wardrobe.
A man who fled from an open prison in the UK has been jailed for five years for possesssion of cannabis worth €34,000 in Cork city last year.
Ikran Aslam (38), a British citizen with an address at The Avenue, Pembroke Woods, Passage West, Co Cork, pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to possessing cannabis herb for sale or supply and money laundering on September 24th, 2020.
