Comings & Goings: Davis Chickpeas closes; at least two bars do, too Shares Chickpeas Kitchen closed its Davis restaurant at 640 W. Covell Blvd., earlier this month. Owner DeKristie Adams is keeping the Woodland eatery at 800 Main St. open. The restaurant offers Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food like shawarma, falafels, gyros, tabbouleh, pitas and hummus. In 2014, Mike Bennamer opened the Davis Chickpeas in Anderson Plaza. After Adams became a partner in 2017, they added Woodland, Sacramento (which closed in March) and Fairfield (which closed in July). It was in the process of adding franchising when the pandemic hit. Now, Woodland is the only one left, and its first franchise deal for a store in Marin County fell through.
