Five day in-person learning model up for board approval Shares The Davis school board on Thursday will consider approving a new 5-day in-person learning model that would run starting April 12 and last for the rest of the school year.  Though a revised version of the new model isn’t available on the board agenda at the time of publication, the board discussed an initial version of the model at a special meeting Sunday.  Originally, the district was looking to kick off a hybrid learning model April 12 that would involve two days of in-person instruction each week and run for the remainder of the school year. But the district is now considering the five-day model because of changing conditions. Most significantly, COVID-19 conditions have continued to improve and the California Department of Public Health recently released a new guidance that allows for 3 feet of social distancing between student desks instead of 6 feet.
