Aloha Poké Sushi and Hibachi in Panama City, Florida serves Japanese fusion

We used to work together at another local Japanese restaurant, said William, who originally is from Indonesia. As for the other two business partners, one of them has a (local) Japanese restaurant and one used to live in Hawaii, said William, adding the latter also has a poke restaurant in Pensacola. We just put it all together. Wooden letters, painted to resemble the U.S. flag, spell out the restaurant name on one of the sky-blue walls. A surfboard sign is adorned with Panama City, while another sign says mahalo ( thank you in Hawaiian). Menu boards hang on the wall behind the counter, where customers order, pay and grab a number for the table. Paper menus detail even more options. If you need a minute or five, you re encouraged to sit down at a booth and take your time, and William is happy to help with suggestions.

Column: City sales tax projects coming along nicely City’s 15-year or $25 million budget is tracking close to projections anticipated when question was brought to voters in 2018 Written By: Steve Robinson, Worthington City Administrator | 3:00 pm, Mar. 2, 2021 × WORTHINGTON Worthington’s local option sales tax was initiated just over a year ago. While 2020 has been a year fraught with health and economic circumstances many have never before experienced, sales tax collections point to the strength and resilience of our local economy. The city’s 15-year or $25 million budget is tracking close to the projections we anticipated when we brought the question to the voters in 2018. Monthly sales tax collections for the last six months of 2020 have averaged just over $96,000, exceeding our budgeted projection of $94,800.

St Charles officials closing in on final design for 1st Street Plaza project

Updated 2/24/2021 6:23 PM Bolstered by the results of a community survey indicating support for the direction of the 1st Street Plaza project along the Fox River in St. Charles, city officials agreed to pay $165,000 to Serena Sturm Architects for a detailed design of the plan. The city previously paid a similar amount to Serena Sturm for a basic design that included artist renderings of the pedestrian walkway, public gathering spot and other amenities. The new design will include an updated site survey and describe the site s architectural and structural dimensions in addition to HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.   The design will be completed by mid-May with hopes of construction beginning just after Labor Day.
