The defendant, Jashawn J. Eaddy, 17, is now facing more charges in other gun-related cases.
Eaddy has been serving a 40-month period of probation after he pleaded no contest in February to a third-degree felony count of robbery in an Erie police investigation of an armed robbery in April 2019, according to court records.
Eaddy was 15 at the time of that crime but was prosecuted as an adult under the Fisher Bill, the state law that permits juveniles accused of committing a violent crime to be charged as adults. Erie police also charged Eaddy as an adult in the new cases.
Following Tuesday s shooting, Erie police detectives on Thursday charged Eaddy in an armed home-invasion robbery at an eastside residence on Dec. 19 and in the armed robbery of a westside convenience store on Christmas Eve.
Erie police are collecting and reviewing surveillance video in an effort to identify a suspect in a Wednesday night shooting in an eastside neighborhood.
A 28-year-old man, whose name was not released, suffered a wound across his forehead when he was grazed by a bullet shot at him in the 3900 block of Nancy Avenue, between East 38th Street and Zimmerman Road, shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Erie police.
Officers were sent to the neighborhood on reports of shots fired and a gunshot victim, Erie police Sgt. Robert Hill said Thursday morning.
The man was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment.
