DGP directs officers to continue assistance to civil administration

PHQ, other offices resume functioning Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, May 11: In connection with the annual Darbar Move from Jammu to the summer capital, Police Headquarters and other move police offices’ resumed their functioning here today. The DGP J&K reached PHQ where he was received by senior police officers of the PHQ. He was given ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival. Soon after the PHQ resumed its functioning at Srinagar, the DGP chaired a meeting of senior police officers which was attended ADGPs SJM Gillani,  AG Mir, IGPs, Garib Dass, Vijay Kumar, Alok Kumar, DIG CKR, Amit Kumar, AIGs of PHQ, SSP Budgam and other senior officers.

Jammu region accounted for 29 deaths and 1868 cases. Among 29 COVID fatalities in Jammu region, 24 alone were reported from Jammu district. Rajouri district recorded four deaths and Ramban one. Of the total casualties, eight were women while three persons died at home. A Deputy Director Prosecution, two women, who were close relatives, retired District and Sessions Judge, New Delhi based businessman and an official of Education Department were among the COVID victims.

DC Anantnag holds introductory meeting with Prosecution Officers

Share Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today held an introductory cum interactive meeting with officers of the Prosecution Department at Dak Bungalow Khanabal here. At the outset, the DC impressed upon the officers to put in stringent efforts for increasing the conviction rates of the cases. He also called for joint efforts for ensuring people associated with Narcotics and banned drugs trade are penalised under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. While hailing the efforts of the department vis-à-vis the Criminal Jurisprudence, Dr. Singla emphasised on pushing up the awareness level among the Magistrates, Police officers and other concerned officials regarding NDPS Act and other key legislations.
