Andhra CM announces ten-time hike in cash award for gallantry awardees from state ANI | Updated: Feb 19, 2021 06:19 IST
Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], February 19 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced a ten-time hike in cash award for the Armed Forces personnel from the state who will win gallantry medals.
According to an official release, the cash award for winners of Param Vir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra are now getting Rs 10 lakhs and it will be increased to Rs 1 crore. For Maha Vir Chakra and Keerti Chakra, the number of State incentives will be increased from Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 80 lakhs.

New Delhi [India], February 18 (ANI): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which is involved in the efforts to root out terrorism from Kashmir, felicitated nearly 20 of its jawans hailing from the Valley as also 100 other personnel including officers at a function here on Thursday.
Among the awardees are jawans who were honoured with medals for exemplary courage and gallant actions while eliminating terrorists and tackling stone pelters in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to ANI, a CRPF jawan, who hails from Kashmir and was awarded the President s Medal for Distinguished Service, said he had played a key role in eliminating three terrorists.

On the eve of Republic Day, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir announced Jammu and Kashmir Police medal for gallantry and J-K Police medal for meritorious service. The government has awarded Jammu and Kashmir Police medal for meritorious service to six police personnel, Rashmi Ranjan Swain, ADGP, CID; Satish Khandare, ADGP, UT of Ladakh; Harmeet Singh Mehta, SSP, Kishtwar; Rajni Sharma, Additional SP, Ramban; Ghulam Shah Rubbani, SI and Mushtaq Ahmad, SI. Further, recognizing the exemplary acts of bravery and courage beyond the call of normal duty in preventing crime and in nabbing dreaded criminals, the government has awarded J-K Police medal for gallantry to 169 police officers/officials.
Thirty-eight Delhi Police personnel have been awarded police medal for their services, officials said. Seventeen have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), three President s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 18 Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of the Republic Day. DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and his special cell team, including Inspectors Prabhat Kumar Pankaj, Pankaj Kumar; Sub-Inspectors Krishan Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Sharma; Head Constable Girdhar Singh Gurjer; and Constable Gurdeep Singh, were awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for bringing under control criminal Kranti Gang in the Delhi NCR in 2018. A team led by DCP Pramod Singh Kushwah with ACP Hridaya Bhushan, SI Sandesh K and ASI Bhupender Kumar arrested a suspected ISIS terrorist, Yusuf Khan, in September last year and recovered heavy ammunition. They have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.
