ââAfter being here for 120 days, I can reassure the township residents that, at least since Iâve been here, theyâre very lucky because we have loyal, long-term experienced and extremely dedicated staff here at the township, and itâs only getting better,â Lorraine said. âI was very happy the board supported it in all four cases. They were well deserved.â
âLorraine thanked the board and the Personnel Committee. He said although he was a township trustee for many years, his view of the townshipâs day-to-day operations became clearer after working as the township supervisor.
ââAfter five months on the job, he has found all four administrative employees to be supportive, dedicated, loyal and hard-working. The Township Board and residents are fortunate to have such a dedicated management team and staff,â according to the minutes.
âItâs been more than a year since Genesee County 911 implemented a rule that changed how fire departments are called to Tier 1 medical alerts.
âThis rule, voted in unanimously by the Genesee County Medical Control Authority (GCMCA) and which went into effect in October 2019, means that in Tier 1 medical emergencies, if an ambulance is within eight miles, then the municipal fire department is not called to respond. This was implemented to make dispatching services more consistent.
âTier 1 medical emergencies are urgent and typically involve heart or breathing problems. Since the change went into effect, local fire departments have responded to fewer medical calls.
