Who is Charles Sobhraj?
Born in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, in 1944, Sobhraj was the result of a fling between a Vietnamese shop girl and an Indian businessman. Later, he was adopted by his mother s new partner, a French army lieutenant who lived in Marseilles. Sobhraj was involved in crime from an early age and was first prisoned at the age of 19 in 1963 for burglary. He met his first wife, Chantal Compagnon, who came from a conservative Parisian family, after his release from the Maison centrale de Poissy in France.

Usha was born to Sobhraj and Chantal in Mumbai, India, in 1970 when her parents were a wanted couple on the run. Sobhraj had convinced Chantal to join him in an international crime spree, which involved robbing tourists and faking travel documents. OGDENSBURG The City of Ogdensburg has promoted firefighters Jayson K. Smith and Scott A. McCormick to Fire Captain effective May 15, 2021.
Captain Smith began his firefighting career with the Ogdensburg Fire Department in March, 1999 and is currently an EMT, a leader of the confined space rescue team, a pumper service testing expert and a field service technician for Scott Air breathing apparatus. Captain Smith is married to his wife Nancy and has one child, Gwen Hardy. He will be assigned to Shift 4.
Captain McCormick began his firefighting career with the Ogdensburg Fire Department in November, 2011 and is currently an EMT, Building Safety Inspector, American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor and a leader of the fire prevention team. Captain McCormick is married to his wife Tisha and has two children, Justyn and Natalie McCormick. He will be assigned as Captain on Shift 3.

The Cincinnati Fire Department will have a new Chief starting this summer. Officials announced Friday they are promoting Assistant Chief Michael Washington, Sr. to the job. He ll take over when Chief Roy Winston retires in July.
Washington has been with the department for nearly three decades. He currently leads the Fire Prevention and Community Risk Reduction Division.
He s worked previously as Fire Investigator, Fire Captain, Public Information Officer, and District Fire Chief.
Chief Winston served as Fire Chief since 2017 and was with the department for about 33 years. He retires July 24.
