Sheriffâs office makes changes to mobile command post By Monae Stevens | April 27, 2021 at 11:24 PM CDT - Updated April 27 at 11:27 PM
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Craighead County Sheriffâs Office is working on making changes to their mobile command post, after discovering there were some pieces of equipment that were not working.
Sheriff Marty Boyd says changes to the mobile command post can help his deputies work more efficiently.
âIt puts all the officers on the same page where we have a central command center on location where we know whatâs taken place,â said Sheriff Boyd, âso everyone is working together and not working against each other.â
Devils Lake Journal
Losing family members is a hard thing no matter how you look at it. Recently my family said goodbye to two people they cherished very much.
At the end of last year, shortly before I came to Devils Lake, my family lost my Uncle Marty, after a brief struggle to Cancer. Marty had served in the military for a number of years and afterwards as a airplane mechanic for the government. Losing him was a very surreal experience for me and was made even more surreal by the fact that I preformed his funeral service and then within a few weeks packed up and moved away to start a new position away from everyone I knew.
Prosecutor not seeking charges in Brookland School District investigation
Prosecutor not seeking charges in Brookland School District investigation By Amanda Hanson | March 2, 2021 at 5:29 PM CST - Updated March 2 at 7:06 PM
BROOKLAND, Ark. (KAIT) - 2nd Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Keith Chrestman announced he won’t seek prosecution in a Brookland School District investigation.
The investigation was tied to allegations of missing items and possible misuse of public funds.
In a letter to Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd, Chrestman detailed what led to his decision.
After reviewing the investigative file, he provided two key points.
The first was that the facts do not warrant a theft prosecution because the evidence does not sufficiently show that a named person intended to deprive the Brookland School District of its property.
