BROOKLAND, Ark. (KAIT) - 2nd Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Keith Chrestman announced he won’t seek prosecution in a Brookland School District investigation.
The investigation was tied to allegations of missing items and possible misuse of public funds.
In a letter to Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd, Chrestman detailed what led to his decision.
After reviewing the investigative file, he provided two key points.
The first was that the facts do not warrant a theft prosecution because the evidence does not sufficiently show that a named person intended to deprive the Brookland School District of its property.
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Office found no criminal wrongdoing in connection with a misuse of public funds investigation involving the Brookland School District, Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd said Saturday.
