The Daily Show host Trevor Noah used his nightly platform Wednesday to trash U.S. law enforcement, smearing American police officers as fruit from a “rotten tree.” Now, one of Noah’s old stand-up comedy acts has resurfaced in which he defends the use of deadly police force in the Marikana Massacre in South Africa.
In the undated video, Trevor Noah addresses the 2012 massacre of 34 striking miners by South African police. He rationalizes the use of police force, joking that rubber bullets and tear gas “don’t work anymore,” and downplays the lack of police warning before the massacre.

âThe Daily Show with Trevor Noahâ poked fun at Tucker Carlsonâs live little on-screen box response to President Joe Bidenâs speech last week with the launch of a spoof streaming service only involving the Fox News personality.
Tucker+ â per the voiceover in a parody ad released online Tuesday â âadds a live shot to Tucker reacting to every show that pisses you off.â
âAre you ready to stop watching content you hate? And start watching someone you love watch content you hate?â the narrator asks in the spot for the fake service that sees Carlson added to the corner of the screen during shows that âjam diversity down your throatâ and âhumanize immigrants or Muslims.â
