The 64 th edition of the San Francisco International Film Festival, which ran April 9-18, has awarded over US$17,000 in cash prizes this past weekend to emerging and established filmmakers, including in its documentary categories. The jury hands out a best documentary and best Bay Area documentary prize and this year’s doc feature jury included film producer and director Jameka Autry, film curator Mara Fortes, and program director at Chicken & Egg Pictures, Lucila Moctezuma. The McBaine Documentary Feature winner was Writing With Fire (pictured), from Rintu Thomas & Sushmit Ghosh (India). The filmmaker received a $3,500 cash prize.
