Izzy Dieker, a 13-year old student in Kansas, was told to move to the front of the school bus and was subsequently banned from it by the two employees. Dieker told KSNT News: “At home, my dad told me that he got a call from the school that I was kicked off for saying that I was a lesbian.”

Montgomery to offer free rides for COVID-19 vaccine appointments

A Montgomery partnership will offer 1,500 free rides over the coming months to help bridge COVID-19 vaccination access issues.  HandsOn River Region and Uber have partnered with the city on the program, which will not require the Uber app. Rides are available on weekdays between 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Thanks to a partnership between the City of Montgomery Mayor’s Office, HandsOn River Region and Uber Health, free roundtrip rides are available now. The eighth-grader recently gained permission to use the bus after she was told she couldn t ride following an incident Jan. 26 and subsequent conversations between the family and the district.
