Kenneth Ken Whitney

Kenneth Ken Whitney a resident of The Pines in Davidson, NC passed away peacefully with his daughter, by his side on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Ken was a former president of Warfel Construction Company. He and his wife Ora lived in Lancaster for over 40 years before moving to NC. They were founding members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Lancaster. He was also a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club, serving as President from 1968-1969, and then as District Governor of the 7 counties in South Central Pennsylvania during 1992-1993. A celebration of life service will be held at St. Alban s on Saturday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. Those unable to attend the service in person are invited to attend remotely via livestream on the church s YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/StAlbansEpiscopalDavidson.

The release of the 72-page report, nearly three years in the making, also sheds light on nine dominant patterns of racism that were identified during interviews with dozens of church leaders. The audit confirmed that the church’s leadership, like its membership, is overwhelmingly white, and it found that white leaders and leaders of color tend to perceive discrimination differently. Tell Tales 4-15-21 One more story about the late Bob Snyder. Back in the 80s, The Port Clinton Kiwanis Club used to have a day of fun and frolic with a Dave Wolf organized trip. One year, Bob offered the use of his boat. Sadly, Bob matriculated his boat over some active fish nets, which stopped him cold. Also, around that time period, Jerry Lippus, owner of Clinton Auto, located where Great Lakes Popcorn is today, ran a regular ad in The Beacon. Jerry was a bit of a jokester, and his ads featured a photo of himself making a muscle pose with no shirt on. His ads also used to have a bit of fun with his friends.

Staff reports Chamber accepting Farmer of the Year, Ag Service award nominations FREMONT - The Agricultural Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County is now accepting nominations for Farmer of the Year and Agricultural Service Awards. The deadline to nominate for these awards is April 30. These awards are to recognize and celebrate individuals and businesses that promote agriculture in Sandusky County.
