Parliamentarians pledge to work for groundwater extraction management July 8, 2021 Islamabad : Parliamentarians from National Assembly, Senate and provincial assemblies of Punjab and Sindh have pledged to work together to improve legislative framework governing ground water extraction in Pakistan and improve cooperation and coordination for achieving Sustainable Development Goals target on water and sanitation by 2030. July 1, 2021 SUKKUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator and Chairman Standing Committee on Power in Senate, Engineer Saifullah Abro, has said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to see Pakistan out of the darkness of loadshedding and proceed towards prosperity. While talking to a delegation of Hydroelectric Labour Union of SEPCO, Engineer Saifullah Abro said there was a proposal to get Rs1,000 from every individual, who was involved in electricity theft through Kunda connection. Mentioning PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah, who was accused of Rs1.23 billion corruption, he said he was surprised after knowing that there are 40 air conditioning units being used at Shah’s house but his monthly electricity bill was only Rs9,000, while being a senator, he paid Rs400,000 to Rs500,000 per month in electricity bills.

July 1, 2021 SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court, circuit bench, at Sukkur on Wednesday adjourned the petition hearing till July 08, against PPP leader Khursheed Shah’s illness and stay at the NICVD Sukkur, which was declared sub-jail. Reports said the SHC Sukkur had ordered the concerned authorities, including Additional Advocate General Shafi Muhammad Chandio and Administrator NICVD Dr Naveed, to submit their reports on Khursheed Shah’s alleged illness and reasons to declare NICVD’s floor as sub-jail for the convict of Rs1.23 billion corruption reference. It is pertinent to mention that the PTI Sindh leader Syed Tahir Shah filed a case in SHC Sukkur, challenging the alleged illness of Khursheed Shah and his stay in NICVD Sukkur for the past two years, which was declared a sub-jail for him.
