New Delhi: A Delhi court Tuesday granted bail to freelance journalist Mandeep Punia who was arrested by Delhi Police from farmers protest site at Singhu border.
The complainant, victims and witnesses were police personnel only, hence, there is no possibility that accused/ applicant can able to influence any of the police officials, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satvir Singh Lamba said while granting the bail.

A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to freelance journalist Mandeep Punia, days after he was detained from the Singhu border near the national capital while covering the farmers’ protest.
The Delhi Police had detained Punia on Saturday for allegedly misbehaving with a station house officer on duty.
During the hearing today, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satvir Singh Lamba, observed that the complainant, victims and witnesses are all police personnel. “Hence, there is no possibility that accused/ applicant can influence any of the police officials,” the judge said.
NEW DELHI, India A local court of Delhi headed by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satvir Singh Lamba today granted bail to freelance Journalist Mandeep Punia who was arrested by the Delhi police at Singhu border on January 30. Notably, Mandeep Punia works with a magazine named “The Caravan” and was covering farmers’ protest at the Singhu border since November 26.
While registering an FIR No. 52/21 under sections 186, 332, 353 of IPC at Alipur police station, the Delhi police cops had accused Mandeep Punia of obstructing them from doing duty at Singhu border
Factually, Mandeep Punia had opposed the scuffling of another journalist Dharmendra (Online New India) by the Delhi police cops after which he also became their target, and the police cops arrested them both.

New Delhi, Feb 2 : A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to freelance journalist Mandeep Punia, who was arrested while covering the violence at the farmers protest site at Singhu on the Delhi-Haryana border last week.
Police on Saturday arrested Punia after he allegedly misbehaved with a Station House Officer at the protest site. Police claimed that he was moving through roadblocks and barricades when the alleged incident took place.
