That brings a total 4,903 deaths from the virus and 248,870 new cases.
As of midnight, Thursday 29th April, the HPSC has been notified of 545 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There is now a total of 248,870 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
Of the cases notified today:
294 are men / 244 are women
77% are under 45 years of age
The median age is 29 years old
264 in Dublin, 58 in Kildare, 50 in Cork, 29 in Donegal, 28 in Galway and the remaining 116 cases are spread across 21 other counties .
As of 8am today, 139 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 44 are in ICU. 8 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

2 New Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed In Clare; 545 New Cases Nationally

2 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Clare this evening, with 545 confirmed nationally.
Clare’s five day moving average of new cases is now 3, while our fourteen-day incidence rate per 100,000 of 37 is the fourth lowest in the country.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 4 additional deaths related to COVID-19.

Some 58 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Kildare today out of a national total of 545 new cases. A further four deaths have been notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
