Somerset Man Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Mar 10, 2021 11:26 AM The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to the intersection of Highway 192 and Cherry Grove Road to investigate a suspicious vehicle. Officers arrived to find a 44-year-old David Lafavers of Somerset sleeping in a Jeep. Police say they also found a handgun, syringes in a backpack, possible meth and digital scales inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed Lafavers was convicted on an unrelated felony charge in 2016. Lafavers is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance. He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Laurel County Police Arrest Two On Drug Charges After Finding Them Passed Out In A Car

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Mar 10, 2021 12:03 PM Laurel County Sheriff John Root says K-9/Shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Hunter Disney, Deputy Dustin Saylor and Deputy Brent France were called out to a business parking lot off Highway 312 where two men were reportedly passed out in a vehicle. Deputies arrived to find 25-year-old Kylen Lovett of Barbourville and 37-year-old Christopher George of McKee apparently passed out in a car. Officers had to make several attempts to wake the men up. During the investigation deputies found a loaded syringe determined to contain fentanyl. Lovett had an uncapped hypodermic needle in a back pocket. George had a United States Marshal badge attached to his belt and a 9MM handgun. George was found to be a convicted felon and had a Laurel County warrant for drug trafficking. Later, while being processed at the jail, officers found meth on him. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Two Arrested In Laurel County Following Chase

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Mar 9, 2021 11:37 AM Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Brent France met a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along Chaney Ridge Road. When he turned around to pull the vehicle over the driver, later identified as 40-year-old Bruce Broughton of London, fled leading police on a chase. Broughton, who was wanted on a parole violation warrant and child support warrant, eventually pulled into a driveway, fled on foot and escaped. Meanwhile Deputy France was joined by Deputy Hunter Disney and CSO Brian France. Two passengers in the vehicle, 27-year-old Eric Spencer and 37-year-old Kenneth Mullins, both of London, were determined to be intoxicated and arrested. Police also found a loaded syringe in the vehicle. Spencer was wanted for failure to appear in court and possession of drug paraphernalia.
