Premium Content Subscriber only The driving force behind the Happy Valley Community Organisation, the creator of a signing choir, an anti-straw campaigner and a historian have been honoured in the Fraser Coast Australia Day Awards. It is an honour to be able to present the awards to such a diverse and hardworking group of recipients, Fraser Coast mayor George Seymour said. The recipients have volunteered thousands of hours of their time to the Fraser Coast community over many years which is one of the reasons our community is so vibrant, resilient and caring. Australia Day is a good opportunity for the community to reflect on the thousands of people who volunteer at the hundreds of organisations, groups and sporting clubs across the region.

By: Kenville Horne• The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), in collaboration with the RSVGPF Police Welfare Association (PWA), held its  Annual Awards and Retirement Dinner at Russell’s Auditorium last Tuesday 29th December, 2020, under the theme: The catalyst to success is hard work, discipline and dedication. Noticeably absent from this year’s ceremony was Assistance Superintendent  of Police Junior Simmons who would normally serve as Master of Ceremony.  In his absence, ASP Hawkins Nanton took up the role.

ALPENA Congratulations to Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union team members Denise Chapman, accounting specialist, Adam Degen, mortgage processor, and Alison Jakubcin, marketing specialist/Wildcat Branch supervisor, on being the recipients of the 2020 Personal Achievement Award during AAACU’s Annual Board and Staff Holiday Party. The Personal Achievement Award is given to AAACU employees who have dedicated their own time and made a conscious effort toward improving themselves educationally over the past year. Certain criteria is evaluated when making a selection for this award, such as credit union related courses the applicant is currently taking or have completed, attendance at credit union training events and seminars, community involvement, and attendance at credit union and chapter events.
