Now the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been approved for use in Australia, authorities will begin vaccinating some of the country s most vulnerable populations against COVID-19 in just a few weeks time.
But it s expected to take many more months to vaccinate enough people to achieve an effective level of protection against the virus.
Here s what you need to know about the national rollout, including where you are in the queue.
When will I get vaccinated?
Australia’s vaccination program will happen in five phases, beginning in late February.
Phase 1a
The first phase of the rollout will cover Australians with the highest risk of exposure to COVID-19.

The Personal Achievement Award is given to AAACU employees who have dedicated their own time and made a conscious effort toward improving themselves educationally over the past year. Certain criteria is evaluated when making a selection for this award, such as credit union related courses the applicant is currently taking or have completed, attendance at credit union training events and seminars, community involvement, and attendance at credit union and chapter events.
